Force Unit Converter

A simple browser-based force converter for six practical engineering and science units. Convert through the SI newton, swap units, and copy the result.

Force Units

The newton (N) is the SI unit of force. A kilonewton is 1,000 newtons.

Pound-force and ounce-force describe force, while pounds and ounces alone normally describe mass. Kilogram-force is based on standard gravity; dyne is a CGS force unit.

How This Converter Works

Each input is first converted to newtons, then converted to the target unit. This prevents rounding chains between non-SI units.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is pound-force the same as a pound?

No. Pound-force is force; pound is generally a unit of mass.

What is a newton?
