Olivez is an independent collection of browser tools built for people who want to get something done without fighting the website first.
Who makes Olivez
Hi, I'm Kaifi and I made Olivez.
I started it because I kept running into online tools that technically worked but were unpleasant to use: dated interfaces, unnecessary steps, unclear results, or pages built around everything except the tool itself.
Olivez is my attempt to make the opposite of that. Open the page, understand what to do, use the tool, and get on with whatever you were doing.
What I care about
Useful before impressive
A tool should help you finish the job quickly. The interface comes first: clear inputs, useful results, and as little clutter as possible.
Explain what matters
When formulas, assumptions, units, browser behavior, sources, or limitations matter to the result, Olivez tries to show them instead of hiding the details.
Be honest about limits
Some results are estimates. Some depend on assumptions or external data. Some browser tools have technical limits. Those details should be visible when they affect how a result should be used.
Keep data local when possible
Many Olivez tools calculate or process files directly in your browser. When a feature needs a server or another service, the site should say so clearly.
How tools are checked
A calculator is only useful if the calculation behind it makes sense. When a tool uses a known formula, conversion, standard, or published data, I check the underlying logic and use reliable references where they are useful.
Tools are also tested against expected examples and edge cases. More complicated tools may include automated tests as part of the codebase in addition to manual browser testing.
The level of explanation depends on the tool. A coin flip does not need the same supporting information as a mortgage, nutrition, or health calculator. For subjects where assumptions or limitations can materially affect the result, I try to make those limits clear on the page.
Articles and research
The Olivez blog exists to explain questions that are interesting or useful enough to deserve more than a quick answer.
When an article depends on historical, scientific, technical, or other verifiable claims, I try to trace those claims back to useful sources and list the references used for the article.
I'd rather leave uncertainty visible than turn a convenient explanation into a made-up certainty.
Privacy by design
Where practical, Olivez tools run directly in your browser. That can include calculations, text processing, image processing, and other operations that do not need to send your input to an Olivez server.
Not every feature can work that way. The Privacy Policy explains browser storage, analytics, advertising, third-party services, and features that may use a server or external service.
Found something wrong?
Olivez is maintained by one person, which means mistakes are possible. If a calculation looks wrong, a source has become outdated, something is broken in your browser, or an explanation could be clearer, I want to know.
