Plan a Complete Raid Path, Not Just One Wall

Add every independent layer you expect to break, including different doors, walls, gates, hatches, and deployables. A plan can contain several target types at once, so a route with two sheet metal doors, one garage door, and a tool cupboard can be calculated as one job instead of four separate lookups.

The target search and category filters keep large plans quick to build. Quantity controls let you adjust each layer directly, while the result preserves a target-by-target breakdown so you can see exactly where every explosive count came from.

Lowest Sulfur and Fewest Items Answer Different Questions

The lowest-sulfur result finds the available full-method route with the smallest raw sulfur total. The fewest-items result finds the route that uses the smallest number of explosive items. These can produce different winners because C4 is compact, satchels are available early, rockets have splash potential, and explosive ammunition can trade a much larger item count for a lower sulfur total on some targets.

Fewest items is not labeled as the fastest raid. Real breach time depends on fuse behaviour, placement, reloads, weapon handling, firing time, movement, defenses, counters, and player execution. The comparison is deliberately limited to values the calculator can support honestly.

Sulfur alone does not tell you whether a route is practical. Every comparison expands the selected explosive count into sulfur, charcoal, metal fragments, low-grade fuel, cloth, tech trash, metal pipes, and rope. This makes shortages visible before crafting begins: a sulfur-efficient route may still be blocked by Tier 3 access, tech trash, pipes, a rifle, or another required item.

Resource totals cover the modeled crafting cost of the explosive items themselves. They do not add reusable equipment such as a rocket launcher or rifle, workbench construction, scrap research costs, armor, healing, replacement weapons, transportation, or losses during the raid.

Use Workbench Limits and a Practical Safety Buffer

Set the highest workbench available to remove methods you cannot currently craft. Tier 1 keeps satchels available, while C4, rockets, and explosive 5.56 ammunition require Tier 3 in this reference model. The cheapest result is selected only from methods permitted by that setting.

A safety buffer increases the total explosive count after all selected targets have been added, then rounds upward to a whole item. It can help with uncertain plans, but it is not a substitute for checking the base, server rules, damaged structures, or the exact breach route. A 10% buffer on four rockets becomes five rockets because partial explosives cannot be crafted or carried.

How the Conservative Raid Model Works

The calculator uses Vanilla Rust reference checked July 19, 2026. Each target stores a guaranteed full-method count for C4, rockets, satchels, and explosive ammunition. The app multiplies those counts by the selected target quantities, applies the optional safety buffer, and then calculates the complete resource totals for each method.

Targets are treated independently. Rocket splash, shared damage, impact geometry, soft-side damage, partially damaged structures, fire damage, melee eco-raiding, and mixed explosive finishers are not automatically credited. That can make a carefully executed live route cheaper than the conservative result, but it prevents the calculator from presenting an unverified combination as guaranteed.

Share a Raid Plan Without Creating an Account

The Share button writes the selected targets, workbench level, and safety buffer into the page URL. Anyone opening that link receives the same plan, making it useful for discussing a route with teammates or moving the calculation between devices.

Plans are encoded in the URL rather than attached to a user account. Review the restored target list before relying on it, especially after a game update or when planning on a modded server.

Raid Count and Resource Formulas

The calculator totals the guaranteed count for each selected target, applies one optional percentage buffer to that method's complete route, rounds up to a whole explosive item, and multiplies the result by the method's per-item resources.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I add different Rust raid targets to one calculation?

Yes. Add any supported combination of doors, walls, gates, hatches, and deployables. The calculator totals each selected layer and keeps a target-by-target breakdown for every explosive method.

Does the calculator combine C4, rockets, satchels, and explosive ammo?

No. It compares complete single-method routes across the selected targets. Mixed explosive finishers can save resources in some real raids, but they are not presented as guaranteed until their damage and target rules are modeled directly.

Does the Rust raid calculator include rocket splash damage?

No. Every selected target is treated independently. Rocket splash depends on target spacing, impact position, line of sight, falloff, and base geometry, so the calculator does not assume shared damage automatically.

Why does the calculator sometimes show more explosives than a raid guide?

The reference table uses guaranteed full-method counts. Some guides use a rocket or C4 followed by a cheaper finisher, assume splash damage, target a damaged structure, or use a different server configuration. Those routes can be cheaper but require extra assumptions.

What does the safety buffer do?

It increases the complete explosive count by the selected percentage and rounds upward. For example, four rockets with a 10% buffer becomes five rockets. The resource totals are then calculated from the buffered count.

What is included in the crafting-resource totals?

The result includes sulfur, charcoal, metal fragments, low-grade fuel, cloth, tech trash, metal pipes, and rope used by the modeled explosive items. It does not include reusable weapons, launchers, workbenches, research scrap, armor, healing, or replacement gear.

How does the workbench setting affect the result?

The setting removes methods above your selected crafting tier from the recommendation. In this model, satchels are available at Tier 1, while C4, rockets, and explosive 5.56 ammunition require Tier 3.

Will these values match modded Rust servers?

Not necessarily. The calculator is labeled for its current vanilla reference. Mods, plugins, custom damage, crafting changes, gather multipliers, and server-specific balance can change the live result.

Can I share my Rust raid plan?

Yes. The Share button creates a URL containing the selected targets, workbench level, and safety buffer. Opening that link restores the same calculator inputs without requiring an account.
